Locally our students are currently volunteering at community service organisations like Suncoast Care based in Nambour. is a thriving co-op food outlet that provides affordable groceries to many families in our community. Suncoast Care, a ministry of Suncoast Church, also provides emergency relief for families, funds the Chaplaincy programs at both Woombye and Palmwoods State Schools, provides weekly breakfasts in Quota Park for the homeless and offers a three course meal two nights a week for families in need. for more information about Suncoast Care.
Students are involved in a range of activities including packing shelves, welcoming customers and customer service. We believe this is a great opportunity for our students to serve the local community, gain some work experience and have exposure to some of the challenges that life brings.
Christian & Community Service at Suncoast also includes:
- Annual participation in fundraiser
- Fundraising for Children
- Care Outreach in Coolum
- Annual Senior Citizens Easter celebrations
- blood donations
Locally our students volunteer in their community by serving at Suncoast Care based in Nambour. Through this, our students gain work experience and are exposed to some of the challenges that life brings. Students also participate in various charity fundraising activities throughout the year.
Senior Suncoast students have the opportunity to travel to Thailand for our annual mission trip. Students are challenged to step out of their comfort zone in faith and experience fellowship of different cultures brought together by Christ.LEARN MORE
As a part of our strategic plan to involve students in ministry in rural areas, the College is continuing on its mission to remote properties in Western Darling Downs area in the last week of Term 1 209.
